Biological E Limited (BEL) was founded in the year 1953 by J.A. Narasimha Raju (Raju) and his friend Dasu Ramaswami (Ramaswami) in Maharashtra, India, as Biological Products Private Limited. Biological Products Private Limited was converted into Biological Evans in 1960s when UK-based Evans Medical bought a 40 per cent share. The company dealt in vaccines and pharmaceutical products.
